Cathryn graduated with a BSc Physiotherapy degree from UCT, where she enjoyed student clinical rotations at St Joseph's Home and Bel Porto School, and went on to gain wonderful experience during her community service year at Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital in 2019. She continued here for another two years where she provided services in the NICU, PICU, various paediatric wards and specialised paediatric follow-up clinics. She then transitioned to H.O.P.E. Studio and the Early Bird Therapy Centre - private multidisciplinary practices in Johannesburg, that provide services to in-hospital NICU / Paediatric and out-patient clients, as well as aquatic therapy.
She dedicated the last two years to her professional development through the completion of various courses. She is well-equipped with valuable skills in addressing a wide spectrum of physical challenges in children. With a particular passion for neonatal care, she thrives on contributing to early intervention strategies, firmly believing in their crucial role. Cathryn embraces a holistic approach, collaborating closely with MDT practitioners to ensure comprehensive care for each child.
Through her work with children, Cathryn has gained a unique perspective on resilience and determination in the face of adversity. Witnessing their unwavering commitment to overcoming obstacles fuels her sense of privilege in contributing to their journey and helping them realise their full potential.
Cathryn has relocated to Cape Town with her husband and canine companion, JD. Her strong emphasis on family values is evident in her commitment to spending quality time with both family and friends. Outside of her professional responsibilities and social engagements, Cathryn pursues her personal interests in outdoor activities, particularly hiking, and indulges in culinary pursuits through cooking.
We are thrilled to have Cathryn on our team!
