Nicole graduated with a BSc in Physiotherapy (hons) from the University of the Witwatersrand in 2013, and jumped straight into a career in paediatric physiotherapy after falling in love with the field during her studies.
She completed her community service year at Red Cross Children's Hospital, which was an incredible experience. She has also been involved at Red Cross with university student clinical supervision. She spent five plus years working at a special needs school before growing her family by two kids, aged 4 & 6 - during which time she completed a MSc in Medicine in Child Health (neurodevelopment) at WITS and opened her private practice, consulting in Cape Town.
Nicole is extremely passionate about her work, with hyper-focus on quality of care and movement, and indulges her quiet time in reading the latest research in neonatal therapy, cerebral palsy and movement disorders; always on the lookout for a new course to do, or a webinar to jump onto. Nicole is one of eight certified neonatal therapists in South Africa.
Nicole's MSc research is titled "Gross motor function, surgical intervention and academic performance in children with cerebral palsy".
Nicole enjoys family time, playing with her kids, fine-dining and baking. While she hasn't been active in surfing or playing guitar in a few years, she hopes that she'll be able to pick back up on that this year.
